Reverend Sherry is a summa cum laude graduate of Memphis Theological Seminary, receiving her Masters of Divinity in May of 2005. She was ordained on May 21, 2005. She served Swan Cumberland Presbyterian Church as pulpit supply beginning in January of 2004, and was installed as pastor on May 22, 2005. In 2007 she became pastor for Santa Fe Cumberland Presbyterian Church while contintuing to serve Swan Church.
Reverend Sherry answered her call to the ministry in January of 2000, coming under the care of Columbia Presbytery that year (the first woman ever to do so from Columbia Presbytery). At that time she was an active elder at Santa Fe Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She currently serves on the Columbia Presbytery Heritage and Judicial Concerns Committee. She has written for the Encounter Cumberland Presbyterian adult Sunday school lessons.
Reverend Sherry implements a “servant leader” model of ministry, assisting individuals to come to Christ by making them aware of the covenant of grace. She serves her church members by supporting and counseling them with their needs and assisting them to ascertain and answer their call to serve God as members of the body of Christ.
